Hola. I'm Profe Fer. I've been teaching languages for four decades: university classrooms, private lessons, business executives who needed Spanish for Monday, travelers who needed it for Friday, and curious retirees who wanted to read Neruda in the original.
A few years ago I started hearing the same story again and again: "Fer, I've been trying to learn Spanish for years. I downloaded the apps. I paid for a tutor for a while. Nothing stuck." And every single time, they blamed themselves.
They were never bad at languages. They had been handed the wrong tool. Apps reward streaks; a language rewards patterns. Once you see that ser defines and estar describes, that the preterite closes a door and the imperfect leaves it open, the right form starts choosing itself.
Why it's freeEverything I teach is on YouTube
I recorded my complete beginner-to-intermediate grammar course as 33 short videos and put them on my YouTube channel, in the order I teach them in class. This site exists so that each video comes with what a classroom would give you: a written guide, conjugation tables, real examples, the mistakes English speakers make, and a quiz.
If the lessons help you, the best way to say thanks is to subscribe and share a video with someone who is stuck where you were.
How to use this siteThree ways in
- In order. All 33 lessons follow the sequence I use with real students: ser and estar first, then the present, then the past, and so on.
- By topic. Stuck on one thing? Go straight to spanish verb conjugation, spanish tenses, spanish past tense, spanish modal verbs, basic spanish grammar, spanish prepositions, spanish subjunctive.
- By level. Take the 3-minute level test and I'll point you at the lesson to watch first.
Daily ShortsThe words natives actually use
Grammar is the skeleton. Vocabulary is the muscle. Every day I post a Short on the channel that takes one basic word — la calle, ver, malo — and shows you the five words a native would reach for instead, and which country uses which.
No streaks, no gimmicks, no "fluent in 30 days". Real Spanish, the way it's spoken, ten minutes at a time. ¡Vamos!
